USA Pit Bull Rescue is currently working on our non profit status so no donation is considered tax deductible at this
time.
We strive to keep our costs down and to meet these costs by asking a donation from every adoptor. Our requested Fee
is $250.00 and includes spay/neuter, vet exam and any needed vet care, worming and shots as appropriate. This cost is
higher than local shelters because we are not subsidized. Some dogs cost us much more than this and others less but by having
a standard fee request, no dog is unadoptable because he cost us too much.
All USA Pit Bull Rescue companion pets are "fostered" at the homes of volunteers where they learn basic commands and socialization.
Additionally, some of the foster pets have been thru basic or advance training classes.
USA Pit Bull Rescue requires prospective adoptive families to complete an adoption application. Personal references
and vet checks are complete along with a home inspection. Please note that all family member are required to be present
during a home inspection. USAPBR is happy to hear from people interested in giving one of these wonderful dogs a responsible
loving forever home but please remember that Pit Bulls become deeply attached to their families. They enjoy sharing every
aspect of their family's life and they love being near you at all times. If you feel you may not enjoy having a dog's constant
companionship, then you may be happier with a different breed that is less oriented to human companionship.
Upon adoption completion, the remaining $225.00 fee is required.
All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. There are special cases when this may be delayed due to health. All
dogs are up to date on vaccines.
Upon entering the rescue, the dogs are tested and treated (if necessary) for intestinal
worms. The rescue will test and treat again while in foster care only if the dog is symptomatic.
Please note
we are volunteers, not professional dog trainers or students of animal behavior. Descriptions are opinions only and are used
as a guide to place the dog in the most appropriate home.
After adoption, we are available to assist and advise our adoptive families in any way we can. Obedience training is required,
and we have two qualified trainers we can refer you to for training classes.
If for any reason your adoption doesn't work out, we require that you return the dog to us. There are no exceptions.
The adoption fee is not refundable should you return the dog, as it will have already been spent caring for the dog you
adopt and/or other Pit Bulls in need.
Minimum requirements for adopting from USA Pit Bull Rescue:
Willingness to participate in training and socialization
Willingness to provide responsible dog ownership and supervision
Demonstrated financial stability
Abilility to provide a letter from your landlord (if renting) stating you are permitted
to have a Pit Bull on rented property
Age 21 or older
Please remember: we do not have a shelter, we do not receive
funds from the government, and we do not receive free medical treatment. We depend solely on the support from the public.
We all work full time and the dogs are fostered at our homes.
